To start, get a sheet of paper and put a heading across the top for each of the business types listed above. Go To Homepage and Review Links (Come Back When Done) Now that you are pretty familiar with the specific types of businesses in the different categories of work-at-home opportunities, you’re ready to pick the specific type of business you’ll be starting for yourself. If you’re worried about picking the wrong type of business, don’t be concerned. You will not be limiting yourself to the first business you pick. Most successful work-at-home businesspeople actually run a number of different work-at-home businesses simultaneously to leverage their time and maximize their income potential. All you are doing here is to pick the first business which you will be focusing on to start your own work-at-home venture. You can always add other types of businesses later as you begin to gain experience and understand how things work. The best way to get your new work-at-home business off the ground successfully, is to focus on only one type of business in the beginning. Once you have your first business up and running, you’ll have some momentum and confidence, and the next business you add will be even easier. On the other hand, if you launch into multiple things simultaneously in the beginning before you have any experience under your belt, you’ll easily become overwhelmed and discouraged and could give up before you give your new business a fighting chance. 15 When you pick your first business to start with, the key to success is to pick something you enjoy. Don’t focus too much right now on whether the business you choose appears to be the most popular or seems to make the most money. Your main goal right now is to simply select something you like and feel good about. This is because history has shown that those people who are the most successful in what they do, are successful because they are doing something they enjoy. Select something that turns you on, and the money will automatically follow later. If you select something you don’t enjoy, just because it looks like a money-maker, you’ll almost guarantee and early failure, no matter how committed you think you are. Take out the category list you created earlier with all of your notes on it. Now, I want you to avoid thinking too hard about the various businesses you’ve listed on your sheet. Instead, skim down your sheet very quickly and put numbers next to each specific business, starting with “1”, then “2”, then “3”, and so forth, with “1” being the business that gives you the greatest sense that it would be fun and enjoyable, “2” being the business that gives you the second greatest feeling, and so forth. Continue until you have numbered each and every business. Remember, you don’t want to think too hard here because your first impression is usually correct. Don’t let yourself think about each business for more than about 5 seconds before you number it and move on to the next one. Pause here and complete this numbering process. When you’re done, continue with the workbook. Congratulations! You’ve now zeroed-in on the first work-at-home business venture you’ll be pursuing for yourself. If you feel hesitant about your selection, remember – your first impression is the most accurate. Push aside those feelings of uncertainty, and commit yourself to focusing all of your attention on the work-at-home business you’ve selected. Don’t forget – you’ll be adding other businesses later as you gain experience, so you’re not passing up other opportunities. You’re simply tackling them in the best order by starting with the most enjoyable types of business first. Now that you’ve selected the business you will begin with, you don’t want to waste any time getting your new business started. Return To Homepage and Follow Links to Register in Your New Business Now that you’ve registered in your new business, you’ve passed a major milestone. Welcome to the work-at-home industry! Now you’re ready to move on to the rest of the workbook where you’ll begin to setup the tools and systems to multiply the income that you’ll be generating from your business, and to put it on auto-pilot. 16 Work-At-Home Quick Start Workbook Step 5 – Create Your Own Sales Website Now that you’ve picked the first work-at-home business you’ll be in, and you’ve registered in that business, the next step you’ll need to take to propel your new business into success is to create your own work-at-home business website. Your website will be like your business storefront where your customers will come and go as they do business with you. Having a good website with lots of traffic will be critical to your success. With your website in place, you’ll be able to multiply the number of offerings presented there, with each one generating income for you from a different source. For example, you can place other companies ads on your website, and they will actually pay you for the customers they get from the ad. Take a look at the following link as one example that you may want to use on your own site to do this. You can probably find plenty of others as well if you search around. We’ll come back to details on this topic in a later step. Azoogle Ads Another great way you’ll be able to make extra money by having a website is with Affiliate programs. An Affiliate program is an arrangement where another company with a website agrees to make you their “Affiliate”, which means that they will pay you referral fees just for directing people to their website from your website. If one of your website visitors simply clicks on a link that takes them to your affiliate, you can make money for the referral. Click the following link to see an example. Again, don’t worry about studying this too much. We’ll come back to this subject in more detail later in this workbook. Affiliate Fuel I wanted you to simply see a couple of examples of tools that are available to make extra money for your work-at-home business once you have a website up and running. These are just a couple of examples out of hundreds of opportunities that are out there to cash in on these kinds of opportunities. Before you can take advantage of those kinds of opportunities, your first focus has to be getting your website created and getting it activated. Don’t be too concerned if you really don’t know anything about starting a website. There are plenty of companies out there who can help you with this. Not only that, I can give you the names of some of those companies who will not only get your website started, but they’ll set it up so it starts making you money right away. In this way, if you’re worried about the cost of a website, you can quit worrying because your new website will actually pay for itself and generate extra cash for you to boot. 17 When you start a new website, you need to design and program the pages that will be appearing in your site. You also need to have a domain name that people will use to reach your site. In addition, you must have your website placed on a computer so it will be accessible from the Internet. Don’t worry if this sounds complicated because the companies I’m going to introduce you to will help you do all of this. To get going on creating your new website, you have some options. There are many companies that can help, and each one offers some benefits that are a little different. I’ll walk you through some of the best companies I’ve found, and then I’ll leave it to you to pick which company you want to use. One good website hosting company to consider is Third Sphere Hosting. One thing I like about this company is that they have a “Web Design Center” on their site which is designed to be user-friendly, and even someone who has no idea how to program a webpage can use this to create a website with no problem. You may also want to search for some companies yourself to see the various alternatives that are available. In any case, don’t delay. Many people make the mistake of believing that all they have to do is create a website and put it on the Internet, and visitors will just start coming. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. Once your website is active, you have to be proactive and take action to get people’s attention and draw them to your site. Not only that, the key to the success of your business is to find a way to not only attract visitors, but to keep them coming back repeatedly. History has proven that many people don’t actually spend any money or buy anything on a website until they’ve visited several times. What this means is that, if you can’t get people to return to your site, those sales are probably going to end up going to someone else. So, how do you draw traffic to your new website. Well, there are virtually an unlimited number of possibly ways to do this. But, in order to keep you focused, and not spread your attention too thin, I’m going to point out a couple of traffic-generating tools that are some of the best in my opinion. One fantastic opportunity for generating traffic is with a company called Traffic Oasis. They have created a multi-level marketing organization to generate leads. Like most MLM opportunities, your compensative multiplies as you refer more people into the organization through your website. The unique thing about Traffic Oasis is that they have structured their organization to assure that the leads produced are new and fresh, rather than being stale, shared leads that don’t really generate any business. This will give you a pretty good feel of the different offerings that are out there and the different companies that can help you generate leads for you website. Go to Leads Page 20 Another popular way to get traffic coming to your new website is to attract traffic from the various search engines people use to search for information on the Internet. Search engines constantly comb the Internet and keep track of the information found on all of the websites that are there. Then, when someone searches for some information through a search engine, that search engine gives them a list of the webpages that the search engine found earlier that had the most relevant information compared to the person’s search. What this means for you is that you need to put information on your website that is focused on a particular theme or topic that you want to base your website on. For example, my website is focused on the work-at-home industry. Whatever your topic, the more relevant information you can display on your website about your chosen topic, the more likely it will be that the search engines will send people to you when they search for your topic. One great way to put relevant information on your website is to use informative articles about your topic. For example, my website is loaded with articles about the work-at-home industry, so I get quite a bit of search engine traffic being directed to my website. As I mentioned earlier, even if you have the greatest leads in the world and are generating a ton of traffic to your website, it isn’t going to do anything for you if you can’t find a way to get those visitors to return again later, and to keep coming back until they decide to spend some money. To avoid wasting your valuable leads, you will want to take the time to setup a system to get those visitors back. The trick for doing this is to create an AutoResponder on your website. What’s an AutoResonder? Well, have you ever tried to leave a website, and suddenly you got a popup window asking you to enter your email address before you leave so you can be sent a free report or other valuable item? If you’ve seen something like that, you were looking at an AutoResponder. It provides a way for you to capture your visitors’ email addresses so you can email them later and encourage them to return to your site. When you have your own site setup, one of the first things you’ll want to take care of is to setup an AutoResponder on your site. There are plenty of companies who can help do this for you. Here’s an example of one of my favorite AutoResponder companies that you might want to consider, although there are plenty of others you can investigate. AutoResponder Plus Remember, setting up your new website is only the start. It won’t do you any good if you don’t get traffic flowing to it, and get your traffic to return repeatedly. Register with one or more good lead generation companies like Traffic Oasis or one of the other companies on the Lead page of my site. Once you have the traffic flowing, keep them coming back with an AutoResponder to capture their email addresses so you can send your visitors some followup communications. If you follow these tips, you’ll reap the benefits of an active, thriving site that has tons of traffic, and visitors who stop to spend their money on whatever it is you and your affiliates have to offer. 21 Is your website up and running? If not, review Step 6 of this workbook again and finish creating you website and setting it up with a web hosting company. When you website is in place, get setup with the lead generation companies and get your AutoResponder in place. Get these items taken care of before you proceed to Step 7 of this workbook, where you’ll gain a more in-depth understanding of lead generation and exactly how it can multiply the profits from your new work-at-home business. 22 Work-At-Home Quick Start Workbook Step 7 – Build a Sales Force to Help Grow Your Business In Step 6 of this workbook, you learned a little bit about companies that are available through the Internet to help generate leads for your business. You learned about one of my favorite companies in particular in the lead generation business, Traffic Oasis. In Step 7, you’ll gain a more in-depth understanding of the lead generation process so you can understand where you’ll get your best work-at-home profits. Traffic Oasis You may wonder if you really need a company like Traffic Oasis. The answer is a definite YES. Teaming up with another company to help each other boost your mutual sales is referred to as a “Strategic Alliance” and it’s a fantastic and vital way to develop a synergy that allows each business to generate more sales from the alliance than the sum of the sales each business would otherwise achieve individually. As a matter of fact, the benefits of Strategic Alliance are so important, I’ve written an article about it that I’ve published on the Internet. When you’ve finished the article, come back here to continue with the workbook. Go To Strategic Alliance Article So, how does Traffic Oasis work? Well, it’s a multi-level marketing system (MLM). That means that, not only do you get paid for referring people to Traffic Oasis, but you also get paid residual fees when the people you referred also refer others to Traffic Oasis. For example, if you refer 3 people and they each refer another 3 people, you’ll be getting paid for 9 referrals (3 X 3), even though you only referred 3 of those people yourself. If the 9 people then refer 3 additional people each to Traffic Oasis, you will then be getting paid on 27 referrals (9 X 3). This continues for up to 5 levels maximum in that group of people (called a matrix). When you hit the maximum of 5 levels, you simply start a new matrix, while you’re still being paid on the first matrix. This can continue indefinitely. The multiplier effect translates into an incredible amount of money you can make by using MLM to essentially hire your own sales force that’s out there working and earning you money, even while you’re sleeping. To get an idea of the incredible amounts you can make, go back to the Traffic Oasis site for just a moment and read through their Compensation page. Traffic Oasis 23 Building your own sales force by using an MLM company is a must, if you’re going to pump up your work-at-home website sales and make your new business one of the most successful on the Internet. Of course, even though I’m partial to Traffic Oasis, I encourage you to make your own decision. You don’t necessarily have to use the company I think is best. I recommend that you explore different options and choose the MLM company you’re most comfortable with. But definitely make sure you pick one and signup right away. Without it, there’s no way you’ll reach the level of business necessary to achieve a 6-figure income like I have. To explore some other MLM opportunities as possibilities, just go to my Leads page and click on each of the Google ad links at the top of the page one-by-one. Get familiar with each offering. Then, go ahead and pick the one you’re most comfortable with, whether it be Traffic Oasis or one of the others. Go To Leads Page Now that you’ve picked an MLM company and signed up, you’ve taken a critical step toward guaranteeing the success of your new work-at-home website business. Your sales will not just be limited to your own personal efforts. Instead, you’ll have tons of sales constantly coming in from an entire sales force that will be working for you, even when you don’t know it. And best of all, your entire sales force is paid by commissions only; no salaries or payroll to worry about. They get paid when you get paid. Now that your sales force is working for you, you’re ready to move ahead to the next step, where you’ll put your new work-at-home website sales on auto-pilot. Your automatic website will continue to sell, whether you’re sleeping, laying on the beach, or doing whatever you enjoy doing in your spare time. With a website on the Internet, you can put your sales on auto-pilot. In other words, you can be away on vacation, on in bed sleeping, and you’ll have lots of sales coming in without you even being aware of it. The trick to building this kind of auto-pilot sales activity is to setup certain tools within your website that will take care of your business and help your customers without you even having to be there. In this step, we will review these tools, and you’ll set them up in your own work-at-home business website as you go. In that way, by the time you complete this step, your auto-pilot business will already be out there making money for you while you continue working through this workbook. MULTIPLY YOUR MLM SALES FORCE One of the first auto-pilot tools for your website is the sales force we talked about in Step 7. If you signed-up with Traffic Oasis or one of the other MLM companies, then your personal sales force is out there working right now. I would encourage you to make maximum use of these MLM sales forces. Hire as many of these services as you can afford, because these will pay for themselves (self-liquidate) very quickly, and after that you’ll be receiving pure profit. Take just moment right now and go back to review the MLM companies you looked at in the previous step. Even though you already signed-up with one of them, pick one or two others and sign-up with them as well, to get the multiplier effect on your sales that will boost your income, even while you’re sleeping. Click Here To Pick Additional MLM Opportunities GRAB YOUR VISITOR’S EMAIL ADDRESSES FOR FOLLOWUP SALES: As we touched on briefly in a previous step, you can use AutoResponders to put your customer communications on auto-pilot, and ask your website’s visitors to leave their email addresses with you in exchange for a free, valuable item (such as a free newsletter, etc.). Getting their email addresses is vital because visitors will typically leave your website, never to be heard from again. But with their email address (which they gave you along with their permission to contact them) you can followup with newsletters or other communications which will entice them back to your website repeatedly. Once you get them to come back to your site repeatedly, the chances that they will spend some money through your website will increase ten-fold. 25 In case you didn’t get a chance to setup one or more AutoResponders on your new workat- home website when we went over this subject previously, pause right now and get an AutoResponder setup before you proceed any further. You absolutely must have this done if your website is going to survive and prosper. Without it, you’ll have no way to followup with your visitors, and your cash flow will just die on the vine before it gets going. Click on the link below to setup an AutoResponder. Setup an AutoResponder At Auto Responder Plus LET GOOGLE ADSENSE SELL WHILE YOU SLEEP You may have noticed that a lot of the links on my website are listed under a heading that says “Ads by Goooooogle”. This is because I have an arrangement under which I let the Google company put their ads on my website. These ads are a tremendous way to add auto-pilot income to your website, because you make money even if the ads don’t sell anything. Google will pay you whenever visitors click on the ads, or when the ads simply appear on your website. It’s the easiest money you’ll ever make. The more you can get visitors to come to your website, the more they will click on your Google ads, and the more money you’ll make. Take a moment right now and add some Google ads to your new webpage. To do this, just go to my home page, click on the link near the top that says “Ads by Goooooogle” and follow the instructions for Google Adsense. After you’ve setup your Google ads for your own website, come back here and continue with the workbook. USE GOOGLE ADWORDS TO SEND 24-HOUR TRAFFIC TO YOUR WEBSITE When you clicked on the link “Ads by Goooooogle” to setup your Google AdSense ads, you may have noticed something called Google AdWords. Let me explain what this is, because it’s another great tool you definitely need to setup for your website to have a greater chance of generating significant profits. As I mentioned when I discussed AdSense above, your AdSense ads will make more money as you get more visitors coming to your site who can click on your Google ads. Well, Google provides its AdWords service as an easy way to get plenty of new visitors coming to your website. When you subscribe to AdWords, Google ads will start appearing on other peoples websites advertising your website. When visitors to those other websites click on your ad, it will direct them to your website where they will click on the ads on your site. You’ll have an immediate reaction when you see your Google ad profits take off as this new flood of visitors hits your site. To give your website sales the boost it needs to take off and become successful, stop right now and subsribe to Google AdWords to get the additional traffic coming to your website right away. Just go back to my home page, click on the “Ads by Goooooogle” link, and follow the instructions for AdWords. When you’re done, come back here to continue with the workbook. 26 Work-At-Home Quick Start Workbook Step 9 – Sell Your Customer Leads to Others In previous steps I showed you how to get lots of traffic coming to your website. However, you may worry that your website is so new, you’ll have lots of traffic coming, but no product or service to offer them. Don’t be concerned. Until you get your product or service developed and put on your website (along with features like shopping carts, check-out calculators, systems for accepting credit cards, etc.), you can still make plenty of money from your new traffic by selling those leads to other Internet businesses who would love to buy them from you. As mentioned before in this workbook, an arrangement where you get paid for sending your customers to someone else is called an Affiliate Program, since you are “affiliating” with another company to send them business. One of my favorite affiliate programs is The Internet Marketing Center. Take just a moment to click on the following link, and review their program again. I encourage you to not procrastinate in setting up one or more affiliate programs to sell your leads to someone else. Otherwise, the traffic you are building to your website will all go to waste. Signup With The Internet Marketing Center I strongly encourage you to signup with more than one Affiliate Program, because visitors who come to your website may not choose to do business with one of your affiliates, but they may do business with another one, if you offer multiple affiliate programs they can choose from. These work in a similar fashion to Google ads mentioned earlier, but can add a slightly different look and some more variety to the options you offer your visitors. Azoogle Ads 27 Teaming up with affiliates is an on-going process. I don’t want you to think that you can just setup a couple of affiliate programs on your website and you’re done. To the contrary, your visitors will be much more inclined to stay on your website and click through to your affiliates if you display a large variety of choices. Also, visitors will continue to come back if they see that you are always adding and updating your affiliate programs to offer them something new each time they visit. In light of this, I encourage you to make it a habit to continually research new affiliate programs and consider subscribing to them for your website.
